Fitzpatrick was arrested at his home in Peekskill, New York, at around 4:30 p.m. local time on Wednesday. He is accused of conspiracy to persuade individuals to engage in fraudulent activities with unauthorized access devices.
Fitzpatrick’s colleague on the forum announced his arrest. He wrote that Pompompurin has been out “for a long time” and has never been inactive for so long in different news outlets and on the forum. He also added that Fitzpatrick has removed access to all critical infrastructure of the site.
According to the local newspaper, Fitzpatrick had just finished high school. He is 19 years old. He was released on bail until the next hearing. His lawyer declined to comment on the allegations.
