The Russians have to wait for the repair of PlayStation consoles for several months. Among the reasons are complicated logistics and the presence of various variants of the device that differ not only in appearance.

The Russians are forced to wait for the repair of the PlayStation two months or more

Repair times are subject to the availability of spare parts. If there are no details, then the delivery time is not determined, which means that customers can wait two months or more, IRP (the only PlayStation ASC in Russia) told Izvestia.

According to the editor-in-chief of the Ferra.ru portal, Evgeny Kharitonov, since 2020, Sony has changed the design of parts in the device several times and has been “working on bugs.” Therefore, the interior of the device may differ depending on the year of manufacture, parts and cooling system.

The lawyers added that the period for eliminating deficiencies should not exceed one and a half months. Rogue services are ready to perform repairs the same day you call, but their capabilities are vastly different than ASC’s.

  • On March 10, 2022, Sony decided to suspend its activities in the country due to Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine. The restrictions affected the importation of PlayStation consoles and the operation of the PS Store, where games for consoles can be purchased and updated.
  • At the end of May, the Russians filed a class action lawsuit against the owner of the Sony PlayStation for the shutdown of services.
  • Last summer, Sony Corp. revised its recommendations for retail prices for PlayStation 5 game consoles in several key international markets due to high inflation.
