More than 24,000 recycling points have appeared on Yandex.Maps, verified by Recyclemap, a Greenpeace project in Russia. This is indicated in the “Kart” message.
Users will be able to find nearby suitable points and get directions to them. You can also mark points, make lists and share with those who are also interested in selective waste collection.
In the search bar, you need to enter the phrase “separate waste collection”, after which “Maps” will show verified points throughout Russia. They can also be filtered: for example, select only those that accept waste paper, light bulbs, plastic bottles. You can immediately enter a request and indicate the required material: “where to donate batteries” or “where to donate cardboard”.
Yandex has also added QR codes to Yandex.Market boxes, which can be used to get to a map with marked recycling points. This should help to properly dispose of packaging and other waste.
