Android 14 will have a new very low battery warning when only 2% charge remains, giving users one last chance to connect their device before turning it off. This is different from Android 13 which has 20% and 10% remaining battery warnings and guarantees a certain usage time for the device. The new operating system should be released in August.

The developer preview is available for various models such as Pixel 4a (5G), Pixel 5, Pixel 5a 5G, Pixel 6 & 6 Pro, Pixel 6a and Pixel 7 & 7 Pro. But the version is still unstable and users may encounter some bugs.

It will not be possible to install the new system on some old devices of brands such as Samsung and Motorola. For users who want a similar notification on older devices, apps like Battery Alarm can be downloaded from Google Play.

Android 14 will have a satellite connection option similar to the iPhone 14. Additionally, Bluetooth may have a new distance measurement API to help locate lost accessories and the sharing menu may become independent of system updates.

Rumors suggest that Google’s new operating system will support NTFS and the AV1 video codec. Speculation suggests that the company is working on the ability to record slow motion videos in 4K resolution. Currently, Android only allows the tool to be used in FullHD.

It looks like Google is working on a new UI for Android 14 that will be more minimalistic and cleaner than the current UI. This new interface could be more intuitive and easier to use, with fewer unnecessary items and a greater focus on usability.

In addition, the company may include more privacy and security features such as permission control with more layers, in addition to improvements to the secure storage of passwords and personal data.
