The authors of the satirical animated series South Park, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, used the chatbot ChatGPT to write the script for the fourth episode of season 26.
The episode is called “Deep Learning” and it talks about discovering new technologies that help cartoon characters with their homework. At the same time, ChatGPT is listed as a co-author by Trey Parker.
However, viewers doubted that the chatbot was actually involved in the episode’s creation. Fans of the series were reminded of the irony of South Park and suggested that ChatGPT in the credits was another clever move by the comedy authors.
In addition to working on the series, which has been running since 1997, Trey Parker and Matt Stone are developing their own tech company. Late last year, they received a $20 million investment for their Deep Voodoo studio. The main investors were Connect Ventures and New Enterprise Associates.
ChatGPT is an OpenAI multitasking chatbot, the product launch caused a lot of hype and ethical disputes. In just a few months, the chatbot managed to write many theses, “appeared” in court, and passed the US medical license exam.
One of OpenAI’s founders, Elon Musk, who had previously left the project, in the midst of the chatbot’s success, even decided to assemble a team to develop a competitive product.
