Valve has announced the license plate of its most popular online shooter, Counter-Strike 2.

The company called CS2 “the biggest technical leap in the series’ history.” It will be available as a free update for CS:GO.

All map spawns are reported to have modified lighting that implements a physically based rendering system that creates realistic textures, light, and reflections. All maps are redone from scratch using Source 2 tools and will be sourced by modders.

The smoke from the grenade is now even more voluminous. It contains organic particles that interact with the environment and react to light, shots and explosions. That is, bullets and grenades can disperse smoke.

Moving, shooting and throwing a grenade in Counter-Strike 2 does not cause stress from the server refresh rate. Due to this, grenades always fly along the trajectory, and shooting and movement have become more sensitive. The game interface has also been completely revamped.

On March 22, Valve will launch limited testing of CS2. The official release for everyone will take place in the summer of 2023.
