Externally, the device is not much different from its predecessor. According to company representatives, the whole point of the changes is inside.
For example, one of the major updates is the addition of the LHDC 5.0 audio codec, which allows users to stream high-definition audio. The headphones also feature a personalized sound profile that allows users to customize the equalizer settings to their liking from within the app.
However, the Ear (2) has adaptive active noise cancellation that can filter out unwanted noise depending on the wearer’s environment and ear profile.
The innovation reportedly receives an 11.6mm audio driver with a new membrane made of graphene and polyurethane that provides improved sound quality.
Nor did anything improve the ability to pick up sound in windy conditions and isolate the user’s voice in noisy environments.
The Ear (2) has up to 36 hours of battery life with the charging case and can be charged via USB-C or wirelessly. The earphones can already be ordered for $149 on the brand’s official website and in select stores around the world.
