As announced yesterday (22), subway workers in the city of São Paulo have been on strike since this Thursday (23). When the 1-Blue, 2-Green, 3-Red, and 15-Silver lines became paralyzed, many users had to resort to other alternatives, such as transportation apps.
However, the prices applied by Uber attracted attention and caused a riot. Some trips in the app have become 60% more expensive with the dynamic rate.
The increase became the agenda in social media. In one of the reports, the user claims that a ride that would normally cost R$50 costs R$80. Another person on Twitter said, “They pay $55 reais for an Uber for 3km due to the subway strike.”
In addition to those from São Paulo, some tourists – Those who come to the capital for the Lollapalooza festival – The sums charged by the app also surprised. One user commented, “Strike in Sp meters, I barely arrived and 100 reals already gone on uber”.

This UBER is inappropriate; look at the fare they charge for a journey less than 5km when there is a subway strike in SP today.

So far, Uber has not commented on the matter.
new alternative
It is worth remembering that the MobizapSP application, which is the individual passenger transportation service of the city of São Paulo, started to work from 13:00 today. Its advantage over the municipality is that, unlike its competitors such as Uber and 99, the new service will not have dynamic proportions.
In addition, MobizapSP must only charge a flat rate of 10.95% on rides made by drivers and guarantee a profit of 89.05% on all rides for co-drivers.
