The Russian division of coffee supplier JDE Peet’s may refuse to use the Jacobs brand. The company’s coffee may be sold under the Monarch or Milicano brands. There is no final decision: the name changes are only being discussed, sources told Kommersant.

The manufacturer Jacobs may refuse to use the name in Russia

Since the beginning of Russia’s special operation in Ukraine, JDE has tried to ensure that business in Russia is conducted independently. According to the publication’s interlocutors, the rejection of the Jacobs brand should give the Russian plant more opportunities to promote products.

The Russian plant “Jacobs Dow Egberts Rus” is located in the Leningrad region. Its capacity exceeds 35 thousand tons of products per year. The company produces instant coffee, coffee blends, roasted ground coffee and Jacobs Monarch beans, Jacobs Monarch Millicano, Carte Noire. In 2021, the company’s revenue grew by 13%, to 35.11 billion rubles, the net profit was 5.96 billion rubles.
