According to the scientist, anthrax is a natural focal disease that circulates in animals without human intervention. The risk group includes people who are somehow connected with animals, for example, those who cut skins.

While the causative agent can penetrate the wound, anthrax is not incurable, although this disease is severe – antibiotics do an excellent job with it. In addition, the disease is not transmitted between people.

Chumakov commented on the information on anthrax cases in the Moscow region. According to him, these are imported cases, and the situation as a whole is not dangerous, there will be no mass infection in humans.

But veterinary and sanitary services should not lose their vigilance, as “local wild animals can become a reservoir for infection.”
