In the experiment, 36 blind and 36 sighted people were asked to follow their own heartbeat without checking their pulse or touching the body. At the same time, the researchers recorded the participants’ actual heart rates with the equipment. Then they compared the data.

The analysis showed that the blind participants perceived the heartbeat better than the sighted ones. The average accuracy of the blind group was 0.78, while the average accuracy of the seeing group was 0.63.
