The truth is, Apple has its own messaging service called iMessage. It is intended only for users of iPhone and other “apple” devices. This is why messaging between Android phones and iPhones does not work. Hiroshi Lockheimer, senior vice president of platforms and ecosystems at Google, said this could pose problems for Apple smartphone users.
“Now I just feel sorry for iPhone users who will face feature degradation… You know, Android users are fine, they’re texting each other perfectly safe… it’s kind of weird because now they (Android users – ed.) interact with iPhone, we will have to deal with the deterioration in security,” said Lockheimer.
