Startup “Character.ai” was sold to Andreessen Horowitz for $150 million. An investment that raised a capitalization of $1 million. However, Character.ai can hardly be called the most difficult project, because in 16 months of his console he did not earn a single batch . Moreover, in its current form it is not even a business, it has no monetization schemes and it cannot generate profit. But why then did venture capital put so much money into it?
The answer is simple: a new gold rush called “artificial intelligence” is brewing in Silicon Valley. Any project with a more or less functioning neural network attracts attention. The result seems somewhat predictable, but it’s hard to deny that AI technologies have made a big leap forward lately and have become middle-class users – that is, potential patients.
“Character.ai” uses a complex language model to process a large amount of information so that it can work with a sample directory and resolve public user requests. Its peculiarity in the interface is that all information belongs to belonging persons and AI calls up a dialogue, as it were, from the other side. For example, you can ask “Aert Einstein” to explain the validity of the theory of relativity or ask y y y y. The creators of this AI call its possibilities “infinite”, but this is the revolutionary law of SKEPSIS.
Now “Character.ai” is in free access, it is necessary for his training. Then it will include a paid subscription, advertising and other commercial services. When this happens, and how many specialists, is still unknown. But investors, as shown by the amount of funds raised, believe in commercial attractiveness project.
