The hotel will be located near the city of Marfa, Texas. The project was developed in collaboration with the well-known architectural firm Bjarke Ingels Group. The building will include an indoor pool, spa and art studio.
Interestingly, Icon also has a contract with NASA to build homes on the Moon and Mars. The company even created the first 3D printing house in the US as part of the collaboration. However, the hotel project is his first experience in hotel construction.
Creating printed structures can help speed up the construction process and make it more environmentally friendly. But currently such structures are more expensive than traditional construction methods.
