Gamers have complained that even 8GB of video memory isn’t enough to run The Last of Us Part I even at 1080p resolution, higher ones aside. At the same time, developers specify completely unreliable information in the system requirements.

To understand the situation, the author of the video tested the game on 26 different GPUs. The Last of Us Part I consumes 12GB of memory at 1080p at ultra-high graphics settings.

After testing, the blogger came to the conclusion that the graphics in the game are very good, and he understands why it requires so much memory. However, The Last of Us Part I can actually work with 8GB graphics cards, but only at low graphics settings. The author noted that cards with this kind of memory capacity are becoming entry-level nowadays and we will see launches like The Last of Us Part I more and more often.
