Tech blogger Linus Sebastian of YouTube channel Linus Tech Tips had a chance to test the ROG Ally and share his impressions. He did not reveal all the features of the device but showed how it works in different games.
ROG Ally has a 7-inch 1080p display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, 500 nits of brightness, and a 7ms response time. The company claims that the performance of the device is twice that of the Steam Deck for the same power consumption. In addition, ROG Ally supports connecting an external XG Mobile RTX 4090 graphics card to increase graphics power. The dimensions of the two consoles are similar. The reviewer tested the console in Hollow Knight and there were no performance issues.
ROG Ally’s release date and price have not been announced yet. Presumably, ASUS plans to make a full-fledged announcement of the device in the near future.
