According to him, the ban is linked to security risks and possible Chinese interference in Australia’s internal affairs. The decision was made after consultations with the intelligence service and security agencies. The ban will come into effect in the near future and will affect all departments and institutions. Some ministers have already deleted their TikTok accounts.

Australia did the same with the US, which also banned TikTok on service devices due to concerns over Chinese influence.
