Samsung has announced a redesign and name change for its content aggregator service Samsung Free. The center will be called Samsung Newsattract more users and Direct competitor to Google Discover.
Some readers may have never heard of Samsung Free, an indication of the need to refresh the service. Internet content collected in different tabs with Android 11, One UI 3 and Samsung Free: View, Listen, Read and Play.
This category distinction was the big difference for Samsung Free, but apparently it didn’t connect with users. Now the company will make the content aggregator much more standard with what we already know through Samsung News.
What is Samsung News?
Samsung News brings together the Listen and Read tabs of Free, focus entirely on the latest news and publicationsAs in Google Discover. The View and Play tabs are deleted from the app and their contents become part of Samsung TV Plus and Game Launcher respectively. They can be downloaded from the Galaxy Store.
The change will come with an update to version 6.0.1 of Samsung Free, which will become Samsung News, starting April 18. We remind you that Galaxy mobile phone users do not have to use Samsung’s content aggregator and can disable it at any time. Some devices also allow you to replace the solution with Google Discover.
