The scientists used a tiger-tailored human personality test that measures 70 traits such as trust, friendliness or ferocity. The questionnaire was of course not filled in by tigers, but by people who knew them well and watched them every day.
Therefore, many tigers showed “greatness”: they were strong, active, successful in hunting and mating. They also enjoyed a higher status among their relatives.
Some tigers were more “balanced”: they were gentle, friendly and loving. These traits helped them build trusting relationships with the puppies.
