A few days ago we mentioned in Digital Trends that ChatGPT It has a slightly weak sense of privacy protection, especially since it stores our conversations, and that’s exactly what happened to a group of Samsung employees.

Samsung employees accidentally shared sensitive information while using ChatGPT to get help at work. Samsung’s semiconductor division allowed engineers to use ChatGPT to check the source code.

But The Economist Korea informed three separate incidents where Samsung employees inadvertently leaked sensitive information to ChatGPT. In one case, an employee pasted confidential source code into a chat to check for errors. Another employee shared the code with ChatGPT and “requested code optimization”. A third shared a recording of the meeting to turn it into presentation notes. This information is now available to ChatGPT.

Samsung took immediate action limiting ChatGPT downloads to 1024 bytes per person and is investigating those involved in the leak. He is also considering building his own AI chatbot to prevent future mishaps.
