Microsoft reportedly admitted violations voluntarily and did not interfere with the investigation.
According to sources, most of the allegations against Microsoft were related to the use of its software in Crimea. However, Microsoft representatives said that the institution will not be able to independently detect and prevent such cases. The US Treasury agreed to this, but the company still had to pay the fine.
In addition to the fine, Microsoft is also being investigated by antitrust authorities in various countries, including the European Union and the United States.
