As Helpix wrote, the dollar rate for people who aren’t logged into their account is the platform’s minimum exchange rate of +5 percent. There is also the “main” rate that people see most often, equal to the same minimum rate, but already plus two percent. At the same time, one of the courses for each account is tied to each SKU – from minimum to maximum (+0% and +5%, respectively). The exchange rate depending on the SKU can also change during the day. .

Interestingly, some products had a negative coefficient, as a result of which the prices turned out to be cheaper than the minimum rate of the platform.

AliExpress recently tweaked their algorithm by changing the “main” rate (minimum +2%) and removed +2% from there. However, some “unlucky” buyers still get +2% or even +5% at a minimum rate.

It remains a mystery why some products have negative rates and why AliExpress is bidding on SKU this way. Helpix reported that most likely, the possibility of assigning one or another course depends on the characteristics of the account. “But still, in most cases, at the same time, the same account will have the same rate for most products”.

However, buyers who keep a close eye on the exchange rate may benefit from looking for products with prices that are lower than the minimum rates.
