Accounts that are not limited to the Twitter audience include the Kremlin, the Russian Foreign Ministry, the Russian Embassy in the UK, and the Russian Ministry of Defense. Telegraph reporters tested it on their devices and received approval from a former Twitter executive who wanted to remain anonymous.
According to him, changes in the social network’s algorithms most likely mean that Twitter management has changed its mind. “This change is unlikely to happen by accident or without the knowledge of company management,” he said.
Twitter has not yet made an official statement on this issue.
