The asteroid was named 2023 FW13 and was found by the Pan-STARRS telescope on March 28, 2023. Astronomers have found that this object is in resonance with the Earth, meaning that the period of its rotation around the Sun is equal to the period of the Earth’s rotation. Such objects are called semi-satellites.

According to scientists, 2023 FW13 became a semi-satellite of the Earth in 100 BC. to. and will remain so until 3700 AD. to. After that, the asteroid will enter another orbit and lose contact with our planet.
