How to make your TV smart with Fire TV Stick

The first step in setting up your Fire TV Stick is to connect the device to your TV and power outlet. To do this, simply plug the device into your TV’s HDMI input, usually on the back — use the extension cable that came in the box if needed.

Then connect the USB cable to the adapter and plug the adapter into an outlet. With that, your Fire TV Stick should boot up. To continue with the installation, you need to access the correct HDMI channel using your TV’s remote control.

From here, setup is done on the Fire TV Stick itself with the remote that comes in the box. Don’t forget to put the batteries inside! Then follow these steps:

Stage 1: Press the play/pause button on the Fire TV Stick controller to start the installation. The device should automatically recognize your controller. However, if it doesn’t recognize it, just press and hold the house-shaped button for 10 seconds.

Step 2: Select your language using the circle on the controller to scroll through the options and the button in the middle of the circle to confirm.

Stage 3: Now select your Wi-Fi network in the same way. If it does not appear, click the back button to update the network options and confirm again.

Step 4: Enter the Wi-Fi password by selecting each letter and number on the controller.

Connect your Amazon account

After that, the device will automatically check for and install updates. Shortly after it’s time to link it to your Amazon account. To get started, choose whether you already have an account or need to create a new one. Then follow the steps below:

Stage 1: Go to amazon.com.br/code in your mobile phone’s web browser.

Step 2: Create a new Amazon account or log in to your account from your mobile device.

Stage 3: Do you see a code consisting of letters and numbers on the TV screen? Then enter this code on your phone to link your Fire TV Stick to your Amazon account.

After the login process is complete, the system will ask you to confirm whether you want to link the device to that account — click continue. Then confirm that you want to add these Wi-Fi passwords to your Amazon account to facilitate subsequent settings.

Finally, the device will ask if you want to enable “parental control” to prevent children from accessing inappropriate content. Next, you’ll do a sound test to see if the control actually works.

How to Download Apps on Fire TV Stick

After making the initial settings, the final step to make your TV smart is to install the apps on the Fire TV Stick. The system itself will ask you if you want to install your favorite apps right now.

Navigate with the circular button on the remote to select apps and select the options you want: Netflix, YouTube, Globoplay and other services. It’s important to note that you must have an account with each stream to use the paid versions as they are not included with the Fire TV Stick.
