French fashion house Saint Laurent will produce films. The company has created a subsidiary, Saint Laurent Productions, and will present its first productions at the Cannes Film Festival from May 16 to 27.
Saint Laurent established Saint Laurent Productions, which specializes in film production. It is reported by Women’s Wear Daily.
The publication clarifies that the French fashion house has become the first of its kind, which not only invests in filming films or provides clothes to actors, but is directly involved in the release of films.
Saint Laurent Productions will present its first works at the Cannes Film Festival, which runs from May 16 to 27 in Cannes, France. One of the works presented will be the short western The Strange Way of Life, directed by Pedro Almodóvar and starring Ethan Hawke and Pedro Pascal.
The company added that they are working on feature films directed by David Cronenberg and Paolo Sorrentino.
