Rostec specialists involved in the FSTI have developed the country’s first base station for supporting fifth-generation networks, known as 5G, under the Digital Economy state project. This year, the first batch of 100 large headquarters was released, dealing not only with “local” operators, but also with companies from friendly countries.
The data of the Russian BS complies with the requirements of 3GPP, as well as OpenRAN, received support for all fifth-generation cellular services, and the maximum data transfer rate when assembling the server is declared at 1.4 Gb / s.
The stations operate in the frequency range from 4.4 to 4.99 GHz and have a modular block switching scheme for future developments, as well as for their possible export abroad.
This decision on 5G back in 2022 was a protest against the Congress of three top officials, currently the most active in the beginning of the deployment of tests in coverage areas with 5G based on the development of Rostec, which should be operational next year.
The development of the basic complex with 5G support took a little over three years, during which about 340 million rubles were spent, including a state grant of 300 million
