“We are improving the writing and reading experience on Twitter! Starting today, Twitter supports tweets of up to 10,000 characters with bold and italic text formatting.

The new feature is available to Twitter Blue subscribers.

Previously, some Twitter Blue users were able to post tweets of up to 4,000 characters instead of the standard 280.

On April 13, Twitter owner Elon Musk announced the launch of user-generated content monetization on the platform. During the year, authors will receive money from subscribers minus the commission from payment systems: iOS and Android charge 30% each. The company itself will not earn from this feature for the next 12 months.
