Lab Industries, the Russian division of Henkel, began to write the names of the manufacturer’s familiar brands (Persil, Losk, Vernel, Bref) in Russian letters. The Henkel Group also owns the brands Fa, Taft, Shamtu, Schwarzkopf, Syoss, Ceresit, Metylan and others. Perhaps in the near future there will be its Russification.
The changes that have taken place were first recorded by RIA Novosti correspondents. They made sure that in shops and markets they began to meet not Vernel, but Vernel, not Bref, but Bref, not Persil, but Persil.
In particular, products with names in Cyrillic can be found on the Ozon portal, where it was reported that “the names of some Henkel brands were Russified by the manufacturer itself.” At the same time, apart from the names, nothing has changed: neither the manufacturer, nor the process of checking the quality of products before selling them.
Lab Industries confirmed that Vernel is in fact produced by Henkel Russia, which has been operating as a separate legal entity under a new name since the beginning of the year.
Likewise, Lab Industries reported that the agreement to sell assets in the country is in the final stage, but has not yet been closed, therefore, before signing, the company cannot “give any additional information: neither about the agreement , nor about business plans”. for the portfolio of products or individual brands.
The Henkel group of companies announced its withdrawal from the Russian market in the spring of 2022, and also announced that after the sale of the domestic business segment is completed, it will completely cede control over it.
