Astrum Entertainment and My.Games have decided to split the online shooter Warface into Russian and international versions. This was reported to RB.RU in the Astrum press service. Over 11 years, the game brought Astrum $700 million.

Astrum retains the current version of the game, its Russian audience and brand, pledging to make a profit only on the local market. My.Games, on the other hand, receives the game code, based on which it will launch a new project abroad.

A Kommersant interlocutor, who is close to a Russian game studio, suggested that, under the terms of the deal, obtaining the Warface code could cost My.Games between $100 million and $150 million.

The game has a global audience of 120 million, of whom “more than half,” says Astrum, are Russian gamers. According to the newspaper’s source in the Russian gaming market, Warface’s revenue last year amounted to approximately $100 million, with 50% coming from the Russian market and 50% from the global market.

  • VK announced the sale of its My.Games gaming business to Leta Capital managing partner Alexander Chachava at the end of September 2022. The deal amounted to $642 million, it included all My.Games assets.
  • The new owner of My.Games has restructured its gaming assets: part of the My.Games business, which generates revenue in the Russian market, has been spun off into a separate independent company, Astrum Entertainmen.
