But even more interestingly, InfoWatch analysts write that this is 4.5 times the country’s population. Experts used their own database of leaks, which included records containing personal data and payment information.

In 2022, the volume of each leak increased by a third to approximately 940,000 records. In 80% of cases, leaks can be attributed to external and internal violators. At the same time, the number of leaks about “trade secrets” doubled.

Their numbers increased almost fivefold in the retail and catering sectors, and threefold in the industry, transport and energy sectors.

Small businesses account for more than 20% of leaks, which is double that in 2021.
