Russian manufacturer and distributor of electronics F+ tech presented a smartphone and a tablet with the Aurora operating system. The company intends to enter the devices into the national product register in order to receive state benefits.

F+ tech introduced a smartphone and tablet based on Aurora OS

The Life Tab Plus tablet and R570 smartphone will be pre-installed with Kaspersky Lab antivirus and MyOffice suite. They will be able to enter the registry if they meet the requirements for a software and hardware complex (PAK), Kommersant learned.

Devices will be produced and an operating system will be installed in Kaliningrad. F+ tech explained that the existing capacity in the plant allows the company to supply more than 500,000 PAKs per year.

The interlocutor in the electronics market explained the importance of such an organization by the fact that due to the lack of resources, equipment and employees, the Open Mobile System (OMS) company, which develops Aurora, has enough resources, equipment and employees to port the OS to only a few devices a year:

Another newspaper interlocutor noted that Aurora OS migration typically took about six months, and with any hardware change, the OS must be finalized, again forcing developers to send devices to OMP for testing.

Experts doubt the new scheme will improve the prospects for F+ technology devices: so far, demand for the equipment in Aurora has been low.
