Sberbank has started testing about 10,000 self-produced laptops at branches, Vedomosti writes, citing sources. Sber itself did not comment on this information.
Now the state bank is testing them for efficiency and then plans to increase the number of its own-brand equipment in branches, one of the sources knows.
GS Group statistics confirm the supply of 9.2 thousand Sber laptops from China in Q4 2022. The supplier was “smart” device maker Salyutdevices LLC (SberDevices) in partnership with Chinese electronics developer and supplier Shanghai IP3 Information Technology Co., Ltd.
Sberbank’s internal needs are about 100-150 thousand devices. Now the bank already has more than 12 thousand branches and about 280 thousand employees throughout the country.
Telecom Daily CEO Denis Kuskov believes that in the future there will be demand for Sber laptops in the public sector. In the consumer segment, they will be in demand, provided they are as technologically advanced as the products of other Chinese suppliers and more or less comparable in price.
