One of the founders of the online school “Uchi.ru”, Ivan Kolomoets, received control in LinguaLeo, Vedomosti found out. According to sources, the cost of buying 75% of the company, taking into account the discount, could be 10 million rubles.
According to the SPARK-Interfax database, on March 1, Irina Kolomoyets became the owner of 75% of Lingualeo LLC, who, according to the publication’s interlocutors, is a relative (possibly mother) of Ivan Kolomoyets. The businessman himself declined to comment.
Another 25% of Lingualeo LLC remains with LinguaLeo Inc., registered in the Virgin Islands.
Ivan Kolomoets owned 12.8% of the online school Uchi.ru until March 1, but VK exercised its option to buy 75% of the company and consolidated the asset. The action cost the corporation 8.7 billion rubles.
According to a source familiar with the details of the transaction, the purchase of 75% of the online school cost 10 million rubles. Experts say that today the multiplier for the sale of assets is about 2-3 annual income. By 2022, LinguaLeo’s revenue decreased by 52% and amounted to 62.7 million rubles, according to Smart Ranking data. Therefore, the sale was carried out at a discount.
