The inflation rate in Russia in annual terms fell below 3%. According to the data from the last calendar week, it amounts to 2.82%. The main contribution to the slowdown in inflation was made by the services sector.
The slowdown in inflation in Russia is mentioned in the review of the current price situation, which was prepared by the Ministry of Economic Development.
During the last week (from April 10 to 17), inflation was 0.04%. Price growth rates in annual terms decreased to 2.82%, the document says.
The Ministry of Economic Development pointed out that non-food products do not increase in price for the second consecutive week. Food products rose in price by 0.08% due to an increase in the prices of fruits and vegetables, the review specifies.
The week before, the inflation rate was at the level of 3.15%, and in general for March it amounted to 3.5%. The Ministry of Economic Development predicted the final annual inflation rate at 5.5%.
According to Rosstat, prices in Russia increased by 11.94% in 2022.
