Xiaomi 12 and 13 are compact flagship smartphones. They differ from each other in almost everything except firmware. Even their appearance is very different.

Xiaomi 13 has IP 68 water protection unlike Xiaomi 12. In both cases the case material is glass and metal. The screens match in every way except one is curved and the other flat.

In terms of performance, Xiaomi 13 with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 outperforms Xiaomi 12 with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. At the same time, both phones are very fast in daily tasks. However, both processors are notorious for getting very hot under load.

Both devices have a 4500 mAh battery and last for a maximum of 1 day. At the same time, their charging power is 67 watts.

The selfie cameras of the devices are the same. But the main cameras are different, although both have 50 MP, Xiaomi 12 has 13 MP, Xiaomi 13 has 12 MP, macro has 5 and 10 MP, respectively. In fact, the main lens is from the Xiaomi 13, if it is better, then it takes pictures by one percent. Overall, both smartphones are very good in terms of cameras. Sample photos are above. But in fact, and in another case, in terms of image quality, the phones do not reach the flagships.

Xiaomi 13 really got better than Xiaomi 12. It has a slightly more powerful processor, a little nicer, moisture protection. And maybe that’s all. In general, both smartphones have very similar performance: they are powerful, have good screens, cameras and fast charging. At the same time, Xiaomi 13 is definitely not worth the money asked for it. Therefore, it is better to take the Xiaomi 12.
