Chameleon has a wide variety of malicious features, including stealing user credentials via overlay login and saving keys, cookies, and SMS text messages from an infected device.
Once the malware is launched, it performs a series of checks to circumvent detection by antivirus programs.
Cybersecurity experts advise Android users to be careful when installing apps on their devices, download apps only from official stores, and always turn on Google Play Protect.
