The day has come: the old trusted twitter is gone. Elon Musk has been expecting for several days that all those who received their blue badge prior to arrival – as the director of the social network – will have to pay to maintain verification. The company has complied with the warning and has stopped displaying the logo on such profiles as of today.

Now this movement is not surprising. Even before Elon Musk’s announcement, it was a fact that the days of the tried and true ones were numbered. Twitter, since the mogul took full control, has been promoting a Twitter Blue subscription that includes, among other “benefits”, a blue badge. Because of your urgent need for income, any extra dollars you can put in your pocket would be welcome.

According to a report from Washington Post, deleting the old trusted Twitter will not be an easy process. And this, apparently, it had to be deleted from each account manually. We don’t know if the employees created a solution to effectively remove them or if they had to work one at a time.

In the past, Twitter account verification was a feature that many people dreamed of, but only a few profiles could boast of. Account verification isn’t the only offer now available only to Twitter Blue subscribers. In fact, it does not go to any comparison with the recently removed for the rest of the users. During March Twitter has turned two-factor authentication of text messages into a paid feature. This was the first and hopefully the last time such an important security feature was made exclusive.

So, you already know. If you were part of a select user group with the old verification and want to keep it, you’ll have to pay for Twitter Blue…
