The Ministry of Digital Development has developed a version that will oblige Apple to open third-party app stores for iOS. This was reported to Interfax by the head of the department, Maksut Shadayev.
The document is an analogue of the European law on digital markets. According to rumors, Apple will comply with it, and will allow connection of external sources in Europe.
Shadayev added that the Ministry of Digital Development is working on a quick assembly option. Perhaps it will be considered by the State Duma at the spring session.
The department that Apple will comply with the law because it is a “good company” and considers “even the destruction of the fine, which is very difficult in current times.” [Интерфакс]
