OpenAI announced this Tuesday (25) the possibility to turn off automatic recording of conversations with ChatGPT. Update allows users to disable chat historychoosing which conversations can be used to train artificial intelligence (AI).

To do this, open ChatGPT and click on the bottom left corner of the screen where the username is. Then access “Settings” and select the “Data Controls” button. There is a toggle switch there to save the history.

All users should already have control and can change it at any time.. The starting idea is to give people an easier way to manage data. Previously, you had to delete conversations one by one.

“When chat history is turned off, we will retain new chats for 30 days and only review them as necessary to track abuse before permanently deleting them,” OpenAI said.

You can also export conversations using the settings., as well as understanding what the chatbot is hiding. Everything related is communicated to the user via e-mail.

Another innovation announced by OpenAI today is the new ChatGPT Business subscription. It is aimed at professionals and companies that need better control of their data.

The plan follows the API’s data usage policies. Thus, end-user information is not used to train AI models. ChatGPT Business will only be available in the coming months.
