canadian singer Grimes they are interested in exploring The possibilities of Artificial Intelligence in music production. On Sunday (23), he invited fans to use their voices to create songs with the help of artificial intelligence (AI) without penalty.
“Feel free to use my voice whenever I want. I don’t have a contract or legal obligation with record companies,” said the artist, adding that he will share 50% of the royalties of successful songs.
Grimes’ attempt was fueled by the popularity of a viral track called “Heart on My Sleeve”. The song used artificial intelligence-generated sounds to mimic a collaboration between Drake and The Weeknd, but was eventually removed from streaming platforms at the behest of Universal Media Group.
I will share 50% of the royalties of any successful AI-generated song that uses my voice. It’s the same deal I make with any artist I collaborate with. Feel free to use my voice without punishment. I have no label and no legal binding. pic.twitter.com/KIY60B5uqt

While some artists oppose the idea of using AI audio cloning technologies to make music, Grimes is a big fan of the app. “I think it’s great to have it combined with a machine, and I like the idea of making all artwork open source and eliminating copyright,” he added.
Creation limits
The proposal to allow Grimes’ voice to be used in AI-generated music is definitely a new form of creative collaboration. But the singer also makes it clear that she has her limits.
He stated I wouldn’t want your voice to be used in lyrics that encourage hate, violence, or highly toxic messages. “I don’t like to make rules, but I don’t want to be responsible for a Nazi anthem unless it’s somehow a joke from the producers.”
The singer’s team is also developing a program to simulate her voice.
