Samsung and Apple continued to be the two biggest smartphone vendors with 58 million smartphone shipments, with Samsung shipping 60.3 million devices, down 18% compared to last year, and Apple, which coincidentally had a 21% market share. At the same time, Apple increased its shipments by 3% compared to the previous year.

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi is in third place with 30.5 million shipments, which corresponds to an 11% market share, but experienced the biggest drop in shipments, down 22% year-over-year.

Oppo and Vivo are in fourth and fifth place, respectively, down 8% and 17% each.

Canalys analysts are optimistic that the second half of the year will bring positive developments in smartphone shipments as supply chains and manufacturers’ inventories become more stable.

We remind you that in recent years, the famous mobile analyst Eldar Murtazin has described each generation of the iPhone as unsuccessful, predicting a collapse in Apple sales. But so far the numbers say otherwise.
