The department’s contract with Lockheed Martin is due to be completed by 2026. In addition, the US Department of Defense has ordered 126 fifth-generation F-35 fighter jets from the company. And as part of an already signed contract, the manufacturer is required to supply the Pentagon with 81 aircraft of the F-35A modification, 26 F-35B and 19 F-35C.
Warplanes are designed for the needs of the US Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps and allies: Finland, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Japan, Belgium, Denmark and the United Kingdom.
