Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies promise to revolutionize marketing and advertising. However, for now, the results do not look very satisfactory. At least for the graphic designer identified on Reddit as PizzaLater. Despite this, the user stated that the experience was “very exciting”.

He decided to use the tools to create a TV commercial for a fake pizzeria called “Pepperoni Hug Spot”. Finally, the video shared on the Midjourney profile on Reddit caught the attention of Twitter CEO Elon Musk and Pizza Hut, who responded to the post with a crazy emoji.

Success started developing with ChatGPT Plus, which created three scripts for advertising. The user combined the best parts of the three versions to create the final script. From there, it fed the information into Runway Gen 2 to create a 30-second clip of the ad.

I absolutely wasted 3 hours of my life doing this today… Everything from voiceover to video to pictures is artificial intelligence. Collected in After Effects.

Conceptually, the ad is excellent, with families eating pizza, the chef throwing the dough, a list of food ingredients, and even a delivery man driving the truck for delivery. But the details show that artificial intelligence still has a lot to learn.

Smoke comes straight out of the boss’s arm. People’s eyes move in different directions. And the worst is yet to come: the mouths make strange movements, seeming to swallow the plates and the pizza itself. “I definitely wasted 3 hours of my life doing this today,” PizzaLater concludes.
