The feature, accidentally released in a test version of the Personal Safety app, offers users the ability to record video and audio while driving.

Dashcam is accessible via an in-app shortcut and offers options for manual recording or automatic recording when the device is connected to a specific Bluetooth device such as a car stereo. To save storage space, the app automatically deletes recordings after three days and compresses videos to an average of 30MB per minute.

While the feature seems well thought out, it’s unclear whether it will be exclusive to Pixel phones or available on other Android devices.
