The Tencent Cloud TI platform, which offers more than ten AI algorithms, will be used to create an automated “AI digital human factory”. The technology allows customization of questions and answers to turn the digital character into a chatbot.
Tecent deepfake usage
While creating believable AI videos is difficult, Tencent’s offering has made synthetic mouthpieces much more accessible. As AI-generated images become increasingly difficult to distinguish from real ones, deepfake technology continues to raise concerns about its potential abuse.
Tecent’s feature will be used to create live-streamed promotional ads, which is a very common type of advertising in Chinese e-commerce. In addition to self-service for production, sales and service, Chinese media say the tool can create doctors, lawyers and other professionals.
Deepfake technology is regulated by the China Cyberspace Administration (CAC) to ensure that it is not misused for illegal activities such as fraud, fraud and misinformation.
