Today, artificial intelligence is used by some of the world’s largest technology companies, according to Yolanda Lenkvist, director of AI governance and policy at The Future Society. In the future, China, USA and UK will be leaders in economic development among countries as these companies are located there.
But is AI capable of creating a new type of conflict in the future? Especially when it comes to cybersecurity. Unfortunately, even today more and more people can develop code and introduce viruses due to language patterns. Most likely, this trend will continue to intensify: more and more fake photo and video content will be created, more and more organizations will send fake emails that appear to come from a bank, or engage in cyberattacks. Voice messages generated by artificial intelligence also sound as if they were real.
Technology will develop rapidly in the future. Therefore, the various risks will only increase. The expert named such risks as fake content, disinformation, cyber attacks, bias and discrimination. There will also be new unforeseen risks.
Artificial intelligence systems are expected to be used in digital infrastructure, that is, digitization of public and private systems. However, all these have a high risk of failure because current scientific studies have not taken into account the risks such as ethics, safety, bias.
