According to the expert, people with Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia cannot remember words even with the help of commands. Such tests allow doctors to determine the presence, degree, or absence of a cognitive impairment, as well as to determine the stage of the disease.
If the test results do not go beyond the normal range, but the patient still complains of memory problems, doctors diagnose “subjective cognitive impairment.”
