Apple has decided to abandon the development of its own chatbot with artificial intelligence, Bloomberg has learned. The company has been working on building its AI model since at least early 2023, but its capabilities are significantly inferior to competitors like Google and OpenAI.

Apple has abandoned plans to launch a chatbot with generative artificial intelligence. Bloomberg expert Mark Gurman reported on this.
In addition to developing its own AI model, Apple intends to sign a collaboration agreement with Google, OpenAI or Anthropic to implement their solutions in its licensed products.
Apple has been developing its generative AI model since at least early 2023. According to Bloomberg, its capabilities are inferior to competing solutions, so the company decided to negotiate with them to implement its developments on its devices.
In June 2024, Apple will hold its annual developer conference WWDC 2024, the key topic of which, according to experts, will be artificial intelligence.
