skip a meal. Eating just one meal a day is associated with a higher risk of death, according to a study of 24,011 adults over the age of 40. Also, eating irregularly can cause an imbalance in your blood sugar, affecting your weight and mood. Finally, a lack of food contributes to the body not getting enough nutrients.

Insufficient protein intake. Protein is the building block of muscles. And with age, muscle mass naturally decreases. As a result, protein deficiency in your 40+ can increase your risk of fractures, falls and also make it difficult for you to carry out your daily activities.

insufficient fiber. A person needs fiber to provide a feeling of fullness, keep the digestive system functioning properly, and regulate blood sugar levels. In addition, due to a lack of fiber, constipation may occur over the age of 40, there may be weight gain, and the risk of developing heart disease and diabetes may increase.

Processed foods as the basis of the diet. These foods can be made or ordered quickly, but are often high in calories, unhealthy fats, sodium, and added sugars. The fact is that such food can contribute to weight gain, the development of inflammation, chronic diseases.

Mindless intake of food supplements. Taking supplements that help address certain health issues will be more effective. For example, if you’re worried about your magnesium and cholesterol levels, take plant sterols.
